Rileigh’s Retreat Cottages to host first annual PEI Blues Cruise from Friday July 23rd to Sunday July 25th in Cavendish
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE, June 15th, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rileigh’s’ Retreat Cottages in Cavendish PEI announced today that they will be hosting the first annual “PEI Blues Cruise – Blues, Bikes, BBQ and Beer” starting Friday July 23rd to Sunday July 25th. This blues festival and bike rally has something for everyone, featuring an “all-PEI-blues” lineup consisting of the Jack of Diamonds Blues Band, the Waterman Blues Band, Scott Parsons, the Blueprints and the Plain Dirty Blues Band. Officially sanctioned by the East Coast Blues Society, this event will take place at Rileigh's Retreat Cottages in Cavendish. Come on out and enjoy a fun filled blues weekend complete with camping, BBQ, bike games, show “n shine and a poker run. Everyone Welcome!
The blues concerts are open to the general public and will take place Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening. Limited camping and RV sites are available upon request from Rileigh’s. Okay, where to begin?... It's been a busy summer this far! We have added volleyball, soccer, tether ball and pool-side basketball to our list of activities so far this summer... plans for an extension onto the play ground in the near future are under way. You'll have to come visit us next year and check it out... we also added a new decked seating area down by the pond n waterfalls as well as some new brick walkways in front of our steps leading into some of our buildings like the washrooms... so our grounds are looking good with the addition of the walkways and some new flower beds, fencing and some new sign-age...
The country concert weekend was a hit and very busy, all our guests enjoyed the wagon ride trips to the shuttle drop of points and the weather was great, looking forward to seeing everyone next time around a special thank you to all out guests who traveled from Labrador NFLD for the concert (7 RV's in total) hope they had a safe trip home... it was a blast having everyone here....
We have added a new stage addition to our pool-side deck in preparation for the upcoming veterans rally. We will have some bands playing as well as lots of other activities... (until next time around every one, take care!)
We survived our first bike rally! Although the numbers were lower than expected due to calling for rain all weekend (which we never got I might add) everyone present had a blast as you can see for yourself in our upcoming pictures, everyone got fed, drank lots and entertained in more ways then one.. the bike games were a blast and everyone were in stitches, especially for the toilet plunger game... the bands rocked both Friday and Saturday nights a huge round of applause goes out to everyone to the "Plain Dirty Blues Band", as well as the ”Jack of Diamonds”... if your looking for talent for an event these are your guys. they rocked!!!! They want to come back next year and we are looking forward to having them as well as others... and we may see them later on this year as the plans for a music festival are in the works at Rileighs... so we will keep you posted on that...
Note: A big thank you to Wayne and the boys from the Ontario southern cruisers for all their help with everything especially the big guy for doing the cooking of our steaks for supper, the same goes out to the southern cruisers from N.S for all their help and last but not least a big thank you to my great friends Kev n Dar from Fredericton, NB for handling the bike games on Saturday. Great job guys!... So check out the pics (coming soon) enjoy a few laughs and for all those who missed it hope to see you next year;.VETERANS MOTORCYCLE RALLY 2010.. Well another season has come and gone and although only our 3rd one, this was our best one yet. we had a lot of new visitors and a lot of our past guests returned. Our camping and RV sites are getting more popular and was up this year and we would like to welcome more seasonal to come and stay.
We had a few glitches at the beginning of the season due to the winters before ice storms. Our pool got damaged and a lot of our trees and wooded areas. As a result some of our earlier visitors missed out on the pool and we were still cleaning up some parts of the property. Due to the extra 3 weeks of repairs and clean up, our flower beds and other parts of the property were looking a little neglected at the beginning. But we managed to get everything up and running as well as adding some new fences, a new heater to the pool and we started the buildings and fences for a petting farm which we plan on having opened next season .As well we plan on adding a washer toss and ring toss games to our already existing horseshoe pit.. We hope to add other activities before the end of the summer but we will keep you posted, for now its a surprise... We spent last summer sending out our arcade games one at a time to get service and tuned up so all our games should be up and running fine for next year, so save your quarters.. like everything at Rileighs we keep everything as inexpensive as possible. so games are just .25 cents per game.
This winter we will be getting all 12 of our power wheels checked so there will be more to go around next year and we just bought another, mini go-cart for the littler ones.
We hope all our families ,friends and new guests enjoyed their stay at Rileighs with us last year and look forward too seeing everyone next year as well as meeting all our new guests.
Just a friendly reminder PEI is hosting the Canada Summer Games next summer so book early to avoid disappointment.Athletes and their families are already booking accommodations.. 2008 Summer Season Update!
Well folks here we are again looking forward for a great year and summer season. Our Price are now up to date with the added tweaks here and there on the site. Many have asked for new and updated photos as well and so more will be added soon this month. Mean time please read along or simply browse your heart desires. No need to remind you (but we will :), please call or e-mail us with your questions as well be happy to answer them for you.
